Frequently asked questions

Our classes

Every class is capped at 7 students — no exceptions. That limit exists because meaningful writing feedback is impossible in a crowded room. With 7 students, the instructor knows every child’s voice, tracks their progress week to week, and responds to their specific strengths and gaps.

All classes are led by qualified teachers — not casual tutors or recent graduates filling a roster. Every instructor holds qualifications equivalent to those required by the NSW Department of Education to teach in a public school.

We hire teachers who are genuinely passionate about writing, and who understand how to build skill progressively rather than simply marking right and wrong.

Every session follows our five-step method: Teach, Model, Write, Feedback, Improve. The instructor introduces a skill, shows it in action through annotated examples or live writing, then students practise independently. The instructor reads and responds to every student’s work within the session — not the following week.

Students leave each class having written something, received specific feedback on it, and made an improvement before they go home.

Yes. We run live, instructor-led online classes and workshops taught by the same qualified teachers as our in-centre programs — so families anywhere in Australia can join. Sessions are live and interactive, not pre-recorded, with real-time feedback every week.

Our Online Learning Hub covers Primary, High School, NAPLAN, Selective and more, plus free live webinars for parents and students.

We teach students from Year 1 through Year 10. Our programs are structured by year level and purpose — Primary writing and literacy, High School English, NAPLAN and scholarship preparation, selective school readiness, and holiday intensives.

During your free assessment we’ll identify the program that matches your child’s current level and goals.

Getting started

A senior instructor sits with your child for a structured writing task. Afterwards they’ll walk you through the results — your child’s strengths, the specific areas to develop, and the program that fits best. The whole thing takes around 45 minutes.

There’s no sales pressure and no obligation to enrol. You leave with a clear picture of where your child stands as a writer.

Start with a free assessment — it’s the best way to match your child to the right program. Book via the contact page or call us directly. Once the assessment is done and a program confirmed, we’ll lock in a class spot and send through everything you need before the first session.

We’re a writing specialist, not a general tutoring centre. Writing is all we do, and it shows in how we teach it — as a craft with structure, progression, and genuine instructor investment.

The combination of small groups, qualified teachers, and written feedback on every piece of work every week is genuinely rare. Most tutoring centres offer none of the three. We offer all of them as standard.

Our centre is in Thornleigh, on Pennant Hills Road (Shop 8, 296–300 Pennant Hills Road, Thornleigh NSW 2120). We run weekday afternoon and weekend sessions.

We also offer live online classes taught by the same qualified instructors — so families anywhere in Australia can join — covering Primary, High School, NAPLAN, Selective, Essay Writing and more.
